Survived by his sister Joni in the U.K. Loved deeply by his friends. Leaving the world a legacy of his music, sound, art, legendary software and overwhelming goodness of character.
Kieran was one of the brightest stars in the musical sky and taken away too soon at just 47 years old.
Few in life shed light so bright onto so many souls; seen and unseen they were touched by his brilliance and friendship.
Few care so much about others and sacrifice their own well-being to provide comfort and council, selflessly, expecting nothing in return.
Kieran was a man who shaped life to his own…
eschewing conformity for originality.
trading small-talk for honest dialog, even for hard conversations. especially those.
his originality and style still leave sonic and visual fingerprints on this broken world.
and we are grateful having been touched by him, and witnessing his greatness,
his humor, his kindness, his endearing goofiness, and his justifiably emotional outbursts of rage and salt.
he made us all smile, and many of us aspire to be more like him.
As a friend he would be there for you no matter the consequences.
As a teammate he would fight by your side virtually or otherwise, to conquer the enemy and win the game.
As a human he would see things that made him sad, and reminesce about the old days, going through all of the spoils of his social sphere of influence in photographs, videos, songs, and memory.
As illformed he blessed us with his vision and talent manifest as his Glitch legacy, making an atomic impact on electronic music confined by no genre, resting on no trendwhorism. His innovation and curiosity and the chaos of randomness his work creates will fascinate all of us and inspire all of us and surprise all of us forever.
As dblue he showed up for Renoise. For taktik, and for the users and the makers. We will be haunted by his helpfulness, his kindness, and his funny reactions in the forum forever. dblue made fantastic music and shared willingly with us, often. sharing not just his music, but how he made it, why he made it, and how we can make our own music better, always ready to collaborate and critique for his friends and fellow musicians.
As a young madhatter he would manifest what he would later become
dancing in raves…
DJing music…
spreading his kindness, happiness and passion with the world
making loads of friends
partying!
drinking!
he LIVED raw, unapologetically, and with creativity passion and drive
he LOVED willfully, unanchored, devoutly, and loyally
he DANCED to the music in his head and in the desert
he INVENTED novel and unique ways to interact with music
he SHARED his whole heart
he SUPPORTED those he loved and knew
he will be missed
he is missed
we loved him as much as he loved us
and it’s with tears in our eyes and our hearts full of sadness but also joy
that we remember him
and will never forget
